The Paleo Experiment

Day Twelve

All I can say about getting breakfast down before church on Sunday is yay for leftovers.  The drawback to church is having to flee to the loo before an audience.  Drinking enough during those three hours is also tricky.  I have a 500ml bottle I carry around...breakfast was last night' s leftovers with an egg on top.

Lunch was 2 poached eggs with a slice of ham, some spiced applesauce with a few toasted walnuts.

There was a family party Sunday evening, and as I suspected the party yummies did not include much variety of unprocessed meat, but for chicken wings, and other edibles, but for eggs wrapped in ham.  Of course, the cakes were totally off the list.  So I brought along a Paleo rceipe plum kuchen (almondmeal, plums, and honey) and made cucumber rollups with smoked salmon, grilled courgette rollups with pesto and tomato, lettuce rollups with avocado and egg "mayo" and chicken.  I had a hard boiled egg and some almond stuffed olives in my box as well.  They were delicious.

However, today as I write this ( monday morning) I feel that water retention. Something was too salted.  I did bring a can of V-8 to drink. I had one not very large glass and it tasted very salty to me.  Perhaps that did it, or the olives, or the combination.  humph.  The portions weren't that big.

Or maybe I didn't hit the three liter watermark.

At least the party was fun.
